Beyblade Burst! BG-01 Random Layer Collection Vol.1 Review

Great news for Bladers who are in need of some Layer part replacements!


BG-01 Random Layer Collection Volume 1 Capsule Gashapon is out! 
(Released 15th Dec 2015 in Japan Only)
With the high wear and tear of the Beyblade Burst system Layer 'teeth' that holds the Bey together, Bladers find the need to keep refreshing the Layer Part to keep themselves top in the game. The Gashapon release makes obtaining more Layers without purchasing the full starter possible.

This Volume has 5 Layer in set and is standard with each Gashapon Color.

Layer: Chaos (Rare)


Point: Defense Type Layer with 2 Symmetrical Blades design. 4 eyes are fixed between the two blades only 2 Attack points.


Weight: 7.86 grams


Approximate Maximum Contact Diameter: 48mm (4.8cm)


The Chaos Layer has an inclined edged circumference with reduces surface contact with opponents Bey Layer.


One tip of each blade is thicker the other end, this improves the spin balance of the Bey giving it a constant weight distribution. Low chance but serves as a Impact point to recoil Attack Types. 


The bottom of the Chaos Layer is a complete mass distributed PVC covering the whole bottom surface. The Layer also has a two point contact with the Poly-Carbonate Top Layer. The bottom PVC layer does not fill the whole top layer, thus the higher half of the Chaos Layer has a higher Recoil impact and the Lower has a higher Absorb impact.


For Blader whom are familiar with the MetalFight Series would have noticed that the Chaos Layer resembles the Earth Aquila H145WD, Earth Metal Wheel.


Besides having a slightly bigger gap in between the inclined blades and two thicker impact sections, the Chaos does keeps its uncanny resemblance to the High Defence/Stamina Earth Metal Wheel. 

Battle Trials: Chaos Heavy Survive

On a Standard Beystadium, the Chaos performed similar to its predecessor Earth Aquila H145WD. Holding a very difficult stand against the Attack Layers (Vaikyrie & Deathscyther). It appears that the Chaos Layer depletes the Spin Ratio of the Attack Layers almost instantly upon contact.
The Chaos Layer always take a Damage (Click once) and retains at a Two Life status. The Heavy Disk increases the Stability and Weight and the Survive Driver helps greatly to maintain the Balance of the Bey in general. 

Summary:

The BG-01 Random Layer Collection Vol.1 is a great addition to the list as the  much needed replacements for high wear Layers like Valkyrie will be easier to obtain. The Rare Chaos Layer is a Must Have for any Defense Bey Setup and also a 10/10 collectors must get.

BeyBlade Burst! BG-02 Random Layer Collection Vol.2 News!

For Bladers who have been following on the latest release from WBO should well know about the very popular Random Layer Collection Vol.1 Gachapon Capsule in Japan.


Well heads up, here's some news on Volume 2!

So far the 'leak' doesn't show which beys are up for the Random Layer Collection line up BUT we do know that it consist of 1 Attack Type, 2 Stamina and 1 Defense Type Layer with 1 Exclusive Gacha Rare Layer thet is only available in this Volume.

The possibility of Attack Type either than Valkyrie (RLC Vol.1) and Deathscyther (RVB Vol.2) are highly anticipated. Layers like Minoboros, Odin and unlikely so Excalibur might make its place. Stamina type, Horusudo, Kerbeus? , Defense Type, Unicorn might also make it in this second Volume.

The confirmation of the NFC function release is also another exciting announcement, but that probably means releasing a newer version of the BeyLogger since the current one does not have a NFC sensor? Or perhaps some other application will surface upon the Digital Bey Battle Station or Beyta. (The NFC chips are located on most Bey Layers in the form of a small Black square between the Polycarbonate and PVC layers.)

That being said, the announcement of a in Official WBBA shop Beyta Arcade style machine will also make its debut. More ways for Bladers to earn those Rare Beys and Up their Stats! Only in Japan thou...

Lastly, the announcement of the Official Beyblade Burst Anime in Spring 2016! Can't wait to see how the story of this seasons will be. Hope it will be a good one~

The Only Setback would be that this New Volume 2 will have a price hike to 400yen instead of the previous 300yen. Not a big issue to most as it is still relatively more affordable than a full booster. Perhaps a more durable material? New Shiny Colors? 

At the moment there is no Official Release Date for this Volume but most likely it will be around Spring 2016. Looking forward to this release definitely.

Beyblade Burst! B-14 Wyvern Armed Massive Starter Review

Layer: Wyvern

Motif: Flying dragon-like creatures with a barbed tail
Point: 7 blade-like wings/barb in the right direction reduces Impact against opponents Beyblade. 


Chance of Burst Finish decreases as 'wings' pushes attacks away from the gaps of the Layer..


Weight: 7.36 grams


Approximate Maximum Attack Diameter: 49mm (4.9cm)


The base of the Layer has a 'Ring' type PVC section under the Poly Carbonate outer Layer and even under the 'blades'. With only two contact point the Wyvern has a much lower weight distribution. The PVC lined inner sections reduced self recoil impact, in turn decrease recoil movement. Overall balance of the Layer is also much higher.

Disk: Armed

Armed is a really unique Disk as its the first of its kind to resemble a 'shell' cover design. 'A' marked on the Disk to signify 'Armed'


The shell-like armor covers most of the exposed 'non-defensive' portion of the Driver. There are also 4 solid mass points and 4 hollow ones surrounding the lower walls or the Armed Disk. This lowers the centrifugal spin force of the Bey, reduces tilt and increase stability.


The Armed Disk hides the Driver under its Armor and only expose the Driver's main bottom area. Do note that the lower Disk will deplete spin ratio once in contact with the stadium surface upon a fatal tilt angle, so avoid applying high movement and tilt configurations. 


Weight: 19.82 grams


Approximate Diameter: 39.8mm (3.9cm)

Driver: Massive

Singular Burst Module, with a wide spherical ball with 3 'claw-like' fins surrounding the outer area. The Jagged fins, helps to increase movement to steer away from sudden tilts upon surface contact but compromises on spin ratio if to frequently occured. 


Massive resembles the previous Metalfight Defense Bottom, Wide Ball (WB). 

Weight: 5.47 grams

Beylauncher (Violet)

Also known as the String Launcher, is probably a long awaited release and staple for all bladers. Being the most powerful Beylauncher among the series, this popular addition will be stocked and proves to be a great selling combo with the Wyvern Starter Pack. The rip string is approximately 47.7cm in length with a cyclic ratio of 5.5 turns.


The general pull of the Beylauncher is relatively smooth but a proper Beylauncher Grip is highly recommended as the grip area on the launcher can be quite bad.

Summary: 

Defense Type B-14 Wyvern Armed Massive, has a low impact Layer but the defense 'blades' have too many gaps for attack Beys to intercept. The Armed Disk keeps low attack out of reach but compromises tilt recovery due to lack of spin ratio. The Massive Driver is great for tilt recovery with the right Disk but can do better without the 'claw-like' fins. Overall the Wyvern Armed Massive is a good addition to any bladers/ collectors as its intros a few new parts that might be of better potential in the near future. The plus point would be the String Beylauncher which will be much needed to be stocked for avid Bladers out there.
A 7/10 Bey to add to the collection.

Feedback from Bladers.

There have been some feedback from fellow bladers out there whom have their experiences with the Wyvern Layer. Apparently the first batch of the Wyvern Layer seems to get stuck in the Beylauncher clip very often due to a bad molded slot. The clip gap was a few millimeter too small and the Wyvern wasn't able to dislodge from the clip upon launching the Bey. On this, the new batch of String Beylaunchers will have a slightly thinner Clip and the issue should be solved. But meanwhile, some simple sanding to the Wyvern clip gap should be able to solve this issue.

Motif: Grim Reaper
Point: 4 symmetrical 'Scythe' blades boost Impact against opponents Beyblade. 


Chance of Burst Finish increases with more defined edges.


Weight: 7.98 grams


Approximate Maximum Attack Diameter: 47mm (4.7cm)


The base of the Layer has an irregular PVC section under the Poly Carbonate outer Layer. Only one side of the Layer has an interlaced PVC section, the other side is hollowed. With only two contact point the Deathscyther has a lower weight distribution. The PVC lined inner sections reduced self recoil impact, the other hollowed section increases recoil impact and movement.

Disk: Oval

Oval as named is a oval shaped two sided weight distributed mass Disk. 'O' imprint signifies Oval.


The two sided irregular weight mass increases field movement and impact strength. 


Weight: 18.09 grams


Approximate Diameter: 41.3mm (4.1cm)
The Oval concentrates its mass on two sides of the BeyBlade. Increases movement intensively. Works the best with Attack Types Drivers.

Driver: Accel

The Driver is a singular unit that consist of the Burst Module, the Height Unit and the Bottom Unit. Accel is basically a H145F. Which is a Height 145 and a Flat Bottom combination in the previous Metalfight Series.

Weight: 5.68 grams

Summary: 

Attack Type B-12 Deathscyther Oval Accel, the Deathscyther is a semi hollow Attack type Layer. As half of the Polycarbonate Layer is hollowed it increases the possibility of high recoils during impact. The Disk Oval, increases field movement using its two sided weight mass ditribution, unfortunately compromising tilt and Stability, overall is a high Attack Beyblade with a relatively constant Burst capability due to its strong Impact Attacks. The only set back is the high possibility of Self Over Finish. A 8/10 Attack Type Bey for Bladers looking for more dynamic Attack approach.

Layer: Kerbeus

Motif: 3 headed hell hound, Cerberus.
Point: Circular design with 16 'fangs' around the circumference of the Layer. The alternate jagged surface of the Layer recoils any impacts and reduces surface contact that depletes spin ratio.


Weight: 7.92 grams


Approximate Maximum Attack Diameter: 46.2mm (4.6cm)


The base of the Layer has a 'Ring' type PVC section under the Poly Carbonate outer Layer. With only two contact point the Kerbeus has a much lower weight distribution. The PVC lined inner sections reduced self recoil impact, in turn decrease recoil movement.

Disk: Central

Central is a circular weight distributed mass Disk with a lower 'step' outer ring. 'C' imprint signifies Central.


The lowering of the weight ring increases stability and reduces field movement. 


Weight: 19.92 grams


Approximate Diameter: 39mm (3.9cm)
The Central concentrates its mass on the outer ring of the BeyBlade. Works the best with Stamina/Defense Types Drivers.

Driver: Defense

Singular unit with a Burst Module. Defense is similar to the previous Metalfight set up of Defense 125 Ball (D125B).

Weight: 6.05 grams


The Defense Driver, uses its outer ring to create another layer of defense against lower attack when at a higher position. The 'fins' surrounding the Ball helps to recover the tilt by pushing the Bey away from any contact when tilted.

Summary: 

Defense Type B-04 Kerbeus Central Defense, the Kerbeus is a full Defense type Layer as the 'gaps' for intercept spin ratios are lower thus decreases the possibility of high recoils during impact. The Disk Central, lowers the centrifugal force and increases Stability,The Driver Defense, is an upgraded Ball with 'fins' to deflect any tilt or surface contact.
7/10 Beyblade for Defense Bladers and collectors.
